On Tuesday, August 22, 2006 the Washington Area Humane Society (WAHS), a no-kill shelter, is holding a Volunteer meeting at King’s Restaurant on Route 19 at 7:00 p.m. Volunteers are needed for shelter activities, fundraisers, pet therapy, fostering animals, vet care, grooming, etc.

- Saturday, September 9, 2006 is the 100 Years of Wags and Whiskers Celebration at the Washington Fair grounds.
- Friday, September 15, 2006 is the 2nd Annual Tuxes for Tails Benefit Gala is at the Hilton Garden Inn at Southpointe.
